Chicken Parmesan is a crispy and tender breaded chicken topped with marinara sauce and melty mozzarella. It’s typically deep fried or pan fried but we’ve decided to air fry it and it tasted just as amazing!
Air frying uses less oil and if you want to cut down on calories, this is perfect for you. Our recipe is quick and very easy to make at home.
Ingredients
4 skinless and boneless Chicken thighs
1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan (omit for lower calories)
1/2 cup marinara sauce
4 slices of Fresh mozzarella cheese or 1 cup shredded mozzarella
1 large egg, beaten
salt & black pepper to taste
Avocado oil spray
Instructions
Pat chicken dry and season with salt & black pepper.
Combine bread crumbs and grated Parmesan on a large plate.
Dip chicken in egg and then into bread crumb /Parmesan mixture. Press the crumbs into the chicken to fully coat it.
Preheat air fryer for 3 mins at 375F.
Lightly spray avocado oil on both sides of the chicken then place in air fryer basket. Air fry at 375F for 7 mins —1/2 way through cooking, open basket and flip chicken over. Depending on the size of your fryer, you may have to cook in batches. Don‘t over lap the chicken in the basket
Place marinara sauce (about 2 Tbsp on each thigh) then top it with mozarella. Air fry for another 3 mins at 375F. Serve alone or with your favorite pasta!
