One thing that we love is Korean BBQ! Our favorite dish is usually the beef short ribs (Kalbi). While you can easily go to HMart and buy pre-marinated meat, we made our own sauce and marinated it overnight.
Kalbi is a variety of grilled dish, typically beef short ribs in South Korean cuisine. It has a sweet BBQ taste and is packed with flavor!
Ingredients
2 lbs Korean Beef short ribs
1/4 cup Soy sauce
1/3 cup water
1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
1/2 of a Korean Pear, grated (This is the secret. The pear tenderize and sweetens the beef) Alternative: sweet Fuji apple
4-5 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 of a Yellow onion, diced
Sesame seeds - optional to garnish
Scallions- optional to garnish
Instructions
Combine all ingredients and marinate the short ribs overnight (for best results).
Remove beef from marinade & drain off excess.
Grill the short ribs on medium heat for 3-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
Transfer to plate, top with sesame seeds & scallions. Serve with rice.
